Biography

Xu Xi, PhD in Surgery, graduated from Peking Union Medical College and is an Attending Physician in Craniomaxillofacial Plastic Surgery. From 2014 to 2017, he completed standardized surgical residency training at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. From 2017 to 2020, during his doctoral studies, he studied in Professor Zhang Zhiyong's team at the First Center of Maxillofacial Plastic Surgery, Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He specializes in facial contouring plastic and aesthetic surgery, comprehensive treatment of congenital craniomaxillofacial deformities, and repair and reconstruction of post-traumatic craniomaxillofacial deformities. His aesthetic pursuit in plastic surgery is “balance, naturalness, integrity, and harmony”; in repair and reconstruction, he strives for the perfect unity of form and function. His current research mainly involves the etiology of craniofacial microsomia, the characteristics of jaw and spinal deformities, and the establishment of precise surgical diagnosis and treatment systems. Multiple papers have been published in the Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery, Chinese Journal of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery, Spine, and Journal of Craniofacial Surgery.
